Roamer End of Life and Migration to Roamer X

Roamer is reaching the end of its supported product lifecycle and is being replaced by Roamer X, the latest generation of the IBSS mobile application.

Customers and partners with deployments that currently use Roamer should begin planning their migration to Roamer X.

What is changing?

As the IBSS platform continues to evolve, newer platform capabilities and technologies are no longer compatible with the legacy Roamer codebase.

Starting with IBSS Platform 2026.01, the platform will begin to remove or replace key functionality and services currently relied upon by Roamer. As a result, Roamer functionality may no longer operate as expected against these and subsequent IBSS platform versions.

Roamer X is the supported replacement for Roamer and is designed to work with the current and future direction of the IBSS platform.

What do customers need to do?

All deployments currently using Roamer should plan to migrate their users to Roamer X.

Migration planning should be completed before upgrading affected environments to IBSS Platform 2026.01 or later. Depending on your deployment, preparation may be required to ensure that users, configuration and required functionality are ready for Roamer X.

We recommend reviewing your current use of Roamer and establishing a migration plan as early as possible.

Will Roamer continue to work?

Roamer may continue to operate with existing compatible IBSS platform versions. However, compatibility with IBSS Platform 2026.01 and subsequent releases should not be assumed. New features added to IBSS will not be surfaced in Roamer.

Customers should not plan to retain Roamer as their mobile application when moving to newer IBSS platform versions.
